Iki Levy started Soultone out of his Los Angeles drum shop after years of frustration with the big manufacturers. He put brand-new cymbals on the kits on the showroom floor so players could actually hit them before buying.
Twenty-three years later the company still works the same way: hand-hammered B20 bronze from Turkey, tested by ear in LA, and priced for working drummers.
